CCHM Student Training Clinic:
Build Confidence in Real-World Homeopathy Practice
The Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine (CCHM) offers unparalleled clinical training to equip future practitioners with essential skills, confidence, and practical experience. Through our Internship and Externship clinics, students gain hands-on homeopathic training to smoothly transition into independent practice upon graduation. Our two-part approach to clinical training at CCHM combines observation, hands-on experience, and mentorship to prepare students for real-world practice
- Part 1
Internship Clinic: Learn from Master Homeopaths
The Internship Clinic is the foundational phase of clinical training, you will spend over 100 hours shadowing master homeopaths treating actual patients. You will learn how to take patient histories, connect with patients, and select remedies. After each case, you’ll write a case report and get a response to improve your skills.
- Observe complete patient consultations, noting detailed symptom descriptions and remedy selection processes
- Participate in case discussions to understand clinical reasoning and homeopathic philosophy in action
- Receive guidance on writing clear and thorough case reports that document patient progress and treatment outcomes
This phase strengthens your understanding of the homeopathic process, preparing you to step into active clinical roles.
- Part 2
Clinical Externship: Build Your Own Practice
Through the clinical externship, you will work directly with your own patients. You will take full responsibility for their treatment, from case-taking to follow-up discussions, with oversight by our world-class team of clinical supervisors.
- Conduct full case-taking interviews and follow-up sessions
- Develop treatment plans and manage remedy prescriptions responsibly
- Build confidence managing patient interactions, expectations, and outcomes
- Learn practical aspects of running a homeopathic clinic, including record-keeping and ethical standards
Your externship cases become the foundation of your clinical portfolio, demonstrating readiness for independent practice. You will start your patient base and build relationships that will become the basis of your practice upon graduation. Find patients in your own area as well as receiving referrals from the CCHM student roster.
